We report a 10-year-old boy presenting with complaints of increased temper tantrums, demanding behavior, grandiose ideas, over familiarity, abusive assaultive behavior and tobacco abuse. On examination, patient had most of the physical characteristics of Aarskog-Scott Syndrome. He also had global developmental delay a...

Aarskog-Scott syndrome (AAS), also known as faciogenital dysplasia (FGD, OMIM # 305400), is an X-linked disorder of recessive inheritance, characterized by short stature and facial, skeletal, and urogenital abnormalities. AAS is caused by mutations in the FGD1 gene (Xp11.22), with over 56 different mutations identified to date. We present the clinical and molecular analysis of four unrelated fa...
متن کاملAarskog-Scott Syndrome: Clinico-Radiological Illustration of a Rare Case
Aarskog-Scott Syndrome is a rare syndrome and is estimated to occur in 1 in 1 million individuals in general population. It is transmitted in an X-linked recessive manner and occurs due to FGD1 gene mutation. It has facial, genital and digital hands symptoms, musculoskeletal anomalies and affected growth. Here we present a case of Aarskog-Scott syndrome in an 18-year-old male patient with the c...

The patient had a history of premature multiple tooth loss, vertical dimension loss and severe dentoalveolar discrepancy. Orthopedic and orthodontic rehabilitation treatments were performed to improve the patient's esthetic, functional and psychological condition. ...

Faciogenital dysplasia (FGDY), also known as Aarskog-Scott syndrome, is an X-linked developmental disorder characterized by disproportionately short stature and by facial, skeletal, and urogenital anomalies. Molecular genetic analyses mapped FGDY to chromosome Xp11.21. To clone this gene, YAC clones spanning an FGDY-specific translocation breakpoint were isolated. An isolated cDNA, FGD1, is dis...
